Recently, I had the absolute joy of photographing a family photo session on the picturesque Katy Trail in Weldon Springs. This session was particularly special because it was for a little girl who had just celebrated her first birthday. There’s something uniquely delightful about photographing children, and this session was no exception.
Photographing children is always a fun and rewarding experience. Unlike adults, who often need a lot of direction, children have a natural spontaneity that makes every moment photo-worthy. The key is to keep them occupied and engaged, allowing their true personalities to shine through.
For this session, we brought along a variety of toys, some beautiful flowers, and a few playful props to keep our little star entertained. The trick to capturing those perfect moments often involves a bit of creativity and, in this case, some silly mouth noises that elicited the cutest giggles.
Her 3-year-old brother was also part of the session, and to keep him busy, we armed him with a bubble gun. This was a hit! He was so enamored with the bubbles that he kept his finger on the trigger the entire time, going through two full bottles of bubble solution. His joy and enthusiasm added an extra layer of fun to the session, creating some truly magical sibling moments.
The Carley family is absolutely wonderful, and I am incredibly thankful that they chose me to capture these precious memories. Their little girl, with her bright blue eyes and infectious smile, was a delight to photograph. Each shot perfectly encapsulated her sweet personality and the love that surrounds her.
